Mentoring Tiny Humans Needs Your Support!

Updated: Dec 2, 2025

I started Mentoring Tiny Humans about ten years ago with an idea and goal to create neurodiversity affirming opportunities, a safe space, resources, and community for my son and others who wanted the same; a truly welcoming environment where ALL children of ALL abilities and their parents/caregivers felt comfortable to learn, grow, and be themselves without the fear of judgement, obligation, attendance quotas, or stress.

I am proud of all that I have accomplished with Mentoring Tiny Humans thus far - providing one of a kind events, classes, and learning opportunities. I have worked with community partners, non-profits, and the Riverside County Library system to create community and city-wide events. I have provided education and tools to many local organizations and businesses on how to incorporate more neurodiversity affirming practices and supplied them with free sensory spaces. I have helped families understand their loved ones better and helped them find solutions and strategies that meet their loved ones where they are (my favorite part).

In the years since, Mentoring Tiny Humans has grown and with your support we have created something special!

I believe in Mentoring Tiny Humans and put so much into what we have built together. I have tried to maintain all that we do, in part because I know many families rely on it. I know first hand what it feels like to find resources only to have them stripped away and I never want to do that to others. However, I have done so to the of detriment to my physical, mental, and financial well-being.

While my primary goal has never been make money, it was my hope that Mentoring Tiny Humans would eventually be self-sustaining with sales from our shop funding our endeavors. Despite the impact we’ve made, this goal has never been met. I have personally funded sensory spaces, educational resources, and most of our events, with ticket prices only covering basic materials. I can no longer bear the costs alone.

Our van, which is essential for transporting supplies, needs a new engine. Business expenses like insurance, licensing, website fees, and inventory are mounting. On top of that, I am facing personal medical costs and the high (practically impossible) price of finishing my education.

I have to prioritize my health and education. If I cannot pay for school, I lose everything I have worked for, years of credits.

As such and effective immediately, Mentoring Tiny Humans is restructuring with the hope these changes will allow me to continue providing services in some capacity.

I am also asking for your support. Please help me keep Mentoring Tiny Humans up and running so we can continue to provide our resources to our families and community.

I will be selling all available inventory including tie dye supplies and hand dyed clothing, fidgets, sensory bins, sensory items, and all OOLY products (some at discounted rates), All new applications for community sensory spaces will be halted until I can find sponsorship. Subscription boxes will still be available with no changes and while we will still continue to provide products in our shop, once inventory is gone, items will be limited and only available by preorder. Orders may take up to three weeks to be shipped.

Additional changes include:

The inability to continue to pursue our non-profit status. The goal was to be able to offer grants to families in need, expand our community events, resources, and sensory spaces, especially as legislation continues to change, this is no longer possible as it is an expensive endeavor.

Crafts and worksheets at our free community events, park days, or field trips will now have a minimal cost. They will still be free for our monthly subscribers. These events will still continue and all are welcome to attend, however, they will be less frequent.

Field trips and events will continue to be limited and will be more local.

Payments for events will no longer be able to be made day of without a deposit and most events, especially those requiring supplies, will no longer be refundable.

Our 15 minute consultations will no longer be free, however, if you are a monthly subscriber, consultations will still be included and increase to 30 minutes.

Body doubling, support meetings, and other online events will continue to be limited. They are still available to our monthly subscribers, however, these will be group/drop in sessions and members will no longer be able to schedule them.

As of now our forums and members only chat spaces will still be available, however, after December 13 this may change due to the cost of maintaining them. I am working on finding alternative platforms that are easily accessible for all.

Please subscribe to our email list for the most update information on these changes, events, and when new shop items will be available.

Thank you for the support and understanding.
