MTH Invites Children to Make a Friend with a Special Story Time and Craft at the Library

Beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 21, the Canyon Lake Library and Mentoring Tiny Humans invites children to make a friend with a special story time and book signing with Canyon Lake author Brittani Arentz as she reads her children's book, “A Christmas Friend”, a true story of friendship found in uncertain times.

There will also be special holiday crafts, activities, games, and giveaways to foster new friendships. Those in attendance can also enter to win an autographed copy of the book to take home.

Patrons can also bring a pre-purchased copy of her book to the event to have her autograph it! Copies of the book must be purchased ahead of time and are available on Amazon or picked up locally by reaching out to Arentz via her Facebook page.

Along with the message of the story itself, the event honors the hopes and motivations of the library and its partners when planning events.

“We love creating fun events for children and families that offer educational opportunities and exposure to alternate ways of thinking or doing things”, said Typhanie Sharfner, owner of Mentoring Tiny Humans and library partner. “What better way than to showcase a local author who took inspiration from a fragment of everyday life and took a non-traditional route to success.”

Canyon Lake Library Branch Manager, Kim Pike, agrees.

“It is a tangible way our patrons and especially youth can grasp that they too can accomplish something that might seem impossible or just a dream”.

While there, patrons can also enter to win the monthly giveaway sponsored by Mentoring Tiny Humans. This month's giveaway includes a copy of “A Christmas Friend” donated by Arentz and a Take and Make Ornament Painting Kit donated by Mentoring Tiny Humans.

Space is limited. Reserve your spot by signing up on the library’s website. Children must be accompanied by an adult . The Canyon Lake Library is located at 31594 Railroad Canyon Rd, Canyon Lake, CA 92587. For questions contact the Canyon Lake library at (951) 244-9181 or Typhanie Sharfner at (951) 385-0216.
